The Mastery Manual

The Mastery Manual, by Robin Sharma, published by JAICO Publishing House (2015) is an inspiring literary piece. It is a “Life Changing Guide for Personal and Professional Greatness”. Every chapter opens with a brief introduction to each title of the chapter, followed by “inspirational quotes”. I am tempted to reproduce some quotes: “The smallest of actions is always better than the noblest of intentions” (Robin Sharma); “The first step to becoming extraordinary is to simply being ordinary” (Seth Godin); “As you live your days so you craft your life” (Robin Sharma); “Human beings are powered by emotion, not by reason” (Kevin Roberts); “Respect is love in plain clothes” (Frankie Byrne);
Essentially, the book is a manual to attain mastery in leadership. Thought provoking directional instructions are the charm of this book. Great leaders not only balance their life but also attend to excellence. The key to greatness lies in balance: Balance work with family; balance doing with thinking; balance head with heart; balance being friendly with being firm; balance compassion with courage; balance making it happen with letting it happen; balance freedom and spontaneous with being responsible.
Great leaders have devotion to excellence; they are committed to excellence in their professional lives; committed to excellence in their relationships; committed to excellence in their adventure lives; committed to excellence in their lives.
